Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” is holding the first Patients’ Conference for breast cancer in Greece on 18 -19 March 2022 in Athens

The conference will be held in a hybrid mode, with the physical presence of some of the speakers and the maximum number of participants in a conference-type space in Athens and at the same time, there will be a livestreaming of the conference through the Facebook Page of the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois”.

Who can attend

Anyone interested in breast cancer, breast cancer patients and survivors, breast cancer caregivers, oncology healthcare professionals, all breast cancer researchers and health policy-makers, advocates and medical community.

Goals of the conference “Breast cancer in Greece today” are:

To highlight all aspects of the treatment and management of breast cancer in Greece today
To map out how patients’ lives continue after diagnosis and treatment
To discuss ways to resolve and improve the management of the disease by all stakeholders.

Through the conference, the importance of dealing with key issues that arise in diagnosis and treatment will be highlighted, the challenges and obstacles will be discussed always focusing on the quality of life in the survival of patients.

The conference will focus on the main positions of the Memorandum prepared by the “Alma Zois” Associations (the Hellenic Association, the Association of Achaia and Association of Salonica) in collaboration with the scientific societies: Hellenic Breast Imaging Society (EEAM) , The Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO) and the Hellenic Breast Surgery Society (EHEM) and and has been submitted to the Ministry of Health. Highlighting the main areas of action for breast cancer management in Greece:

In each thematic unit there will be presentations by expert speakers from Greece and abroad, while sufficient time will be allocated for discussion with the participation of the audience The final program of the conference is under construction.

Η Άννα Μπατιστάτου είναι ιατρός Παθολογοανατόμος, με μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές: M.Α. (1990), M.Phil. (1990) και Ph.D. (1993), Department of Pathology and Center for Neurobiology and Behavior, Columbia University, GSAS, ΝΥ, USA. Είναι Καθηγήτρια Παθολογικής Ανατομίας, Διευθύντρια του Εργαστηρίου Παθολογικής Ανατομικής και Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Ιατρικής του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων. Έχει πλούσιο διαγνωστικό και ερευνητικό έργο. Το ερευνητικό της έργο εστιάζεται στην κατανόηση της μοριακής παθογένειας των κακοήθων νεοπλασμάτων και στην αναγνώριση προγνωστικών και προβλεπτικών δεικτών. Έχει 230 εργασίες δημοσιευμένες σε διεθνή περιοδικά με κριτές (pubmed), με αριθμό αναφορών 4330 και h-index 34 (Scopus). Είναι επίσης συγγραφέας λογοτεχνικού βιβλίου με τίτλο «Η ζωή εν πέτρα», Εκδόσεις FAGOTTOBOOKS, 2016.

Δρ Αθανάσιος Ν. Χαλαζωνίτης,

Συντονιστής Διευθυντής Ακτινολογικού Εργαστηρίου,
και Διευθυντής Ιατρικής Υπηρεσίας Νοσοκομείου “Αλεξάνδρα”

Είναι πτυχιούχος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, κάτοχος τίτλου ειδικότητας Ακτινοδιαγνωστικής, απόφοιτος της Εθνικής Σχολής Δημόσιας Υγείας, απόφοιτος Μεταπτυχιακού Προγράμματος «Οργάνωση και Διοίκηση Υπηρεσιών Υγείας» του Εθνικού Κέντρου Δημόσιας Διοίκησης, κάτοχος Διδακτορικού τίτλου της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.

Έχει λάβει πιστοποίηση μετά από εκπαίδευση για κρατικά προγράμματα «Πρόληψης Καρκίνου Μαστού» από το Ολλανδικό Ινστιτούτο LRCB, στο Nijmegen.
Υπηρετεί στο Εθνικό Σύστημα Υγείας ως Ιατρός Ακτινολόγος από το 1996, έχοντας εξελιχθεί μετά από κρίσεις, σε όλες τις βαθμίδες από Επιμελητής Β’ μέχρι Συντονιστής Διευθυντής.
Από το 2012 μέχρι το 2014 ήταν Τομεάρχης του Εργαστηριακού Τομέα του Νοσοκομείου «Αλεξάνδρα» και από το 2014 μέχρι και σήμερα Διευθυντής Ιατρικής Υπηρεσίας του ίδιου Νοσοκομείου. Από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2015 μέχρι και τον Μάιο του 2016 εκτελούσε χρέη Διοικητή στο Νοσοκομείου «Αλεξάνδρα».

Είναι επισκέπτης Καθηγητής Ιατρικής Σχολής Jilin University, στην πόλη Changchun στην Κίνα από το 2018.
Είναι εκλεγμένος Καθηγητής στο Mediterranean Mobile University of Mastology από το 2017.
Ασχολείται επιστημονικά, παράλληλα με το κλινικό του έργο, με την απεικόνιση του μαστού, την υπερηχογραφία, την αξονική τομογραφία και το management στην Ακτινολογία.

Είναι πρωτοπόρος διεθνής ερευνητής αναφορικά με την «Μαστογραφία με Σκιαγραφικό» και την «Ελαστογραφία Μαστού» και συγγραφέας των δύο αντίστοιχων βιβλίων στην Αγγλική γλώσσα, με πολλές διεθνείς βιβλιογραφικές αναφορές.

Υπήρξε επί σειρά ετών εκλεγμένο Μέλος Δ.Σ. Ελληνικής Ακτινολογικής Εταιρείας και εκλεγμένο Μέλος Δ.Σ. Επαγγελματικής Ένωσης Ακτινολόγων Ελλάδος. Είναι Μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Ακτινολογίας (ESR) και της Ακτινολογικής Εταιρείας Βορείου Αμερικής (RSNA) καθώς και πολλών άλλων Επιστημονικών Εταιρειών.
Υπήρξε Εκπρόσωπος Ελλήνων Ακτινολόγων στη Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (έτη 2007, 2008, 2009)
Υπήρξε επί μία θητεία εκλεγμένο Μέλος ΔΣ των νέων Ευρωπαίων Ακτινολόγων της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Ακτινολογίας.
Υπήρξε επί μία θητεία εκλεγμένο Μέλος ΔΣ της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Management in Radiology.
Από το 2020 είναι ο εκπρόσωπος των Ελλήνων Ακτινολόγων στην Ευρωπαϊκή Επαγγελματική Ομοσπονδία Ακτινολόγων (UEMS).

Έχει υπηρετήσει επί 8ετία ως Μέλος Επιτροπής Προδιαγραφών και Επιτροπής Ενστάσεων Απεικονιστικών Μηχανημάτων στο Υπουργείο Ανάπτυξης και επί 4ετία ως Μέλος Επιτροπής Προδιαγραφών στην Επιτροπή Προμηθειών Υγείας.

Από το 2020 είναι Τακτικό Μέλος της Επιτροπής χορήγησης τίτλου ειδικότητας Ακτινοδιαγνωστικής.
Από 2019 είναι Τακτικό Μέλος Εξεταστικής Επιτροπής χορήγησης τίτλου ειδικότητας Ακτινολογίας.
Έχει δημοσιεύσει 42 επιστημονικά άρθρα σε διεθνή ιατρικά περιοδικά (με 312 βιβλιογραφικές αναφορές), 86 επιστημονικά άρθρα σε Ελληνικά ιατρικά περιοδικά, έχει παρουσιάσει 188 προφορικές εργασίες σε διεθνή ιατρικά συνέδρια και 185 σε Ελληνικά ιατρικά συνέδρια. Έχει βραβευθεί 4 φορές από το RSNA και με μία φορά από ECR για ερευνητικές εργασίες του.

Έχει δώσει 16 διεθνείς και 131 Ελληνικές ιατρικές ομιλίες.
Έχει συμμετάσχει ως μέλος προεδρείου σε 48 στρογγυλά τραπέζια στην Ελλάδα και σε 10 στο εξωτερικό.
Είναι συγγραφέας 15 κεφαλαίων σε ισάριθμα ιατρικά βιβλία και συγγραφέας 4 ιατρικών μονογραφιών.
Συμμετέχει ανελλιπώς σε ετήσια εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα ειδικευμένων και ειδικευόμενων ιατρών, καθώς και άλλων επαγγελματιών υγείας, από το 1996 μέχρι σήμερα.

Έχει συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα με το πλέον πρόσφατο (από το 2019) σχετικά με εξέλιξη συστήματος Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης για την έγκαιρη διάγνωση του καρκίνου του μαστού σε συνεργασία με το Champalimaud Foundation στην Πορτογαλία.

Είναι άμισθο μέλος των διεθνών συμβουλευτικών επιτροπών των εταιρειών General Electric και Siemens, αναφορικά με την εξέλιξη συστημάτων απεικόνισης του μαστού. Επίσης Είναι άμισθο μέλος της διεθνούς συμβουλευτικής επιτροπής της εταιρείας Bayer, αναφορικά με την εφαρμογή απεικόνισης του μαστού με σκιαγραφικό.

Είναι γεννηθείς τον Μάιο του 1962.
Έχει υπηρετήσει στρατιωτική θητεία ως ιατρός σε πλοία του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού για ένα έτος και για ένα ακόμη έτος στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών.
Είναι έγγαμος με την ιατρό Ακτινολόγο κ. Ιωάννα Τζοβάρα και πατέρας δύο τέκνων.
