In 1988, eight breast cancer patients came together, after the initiative and consultation of Metaxas Hospital Head of Social Service, Mrs Iosifina Skourta.
Breast Cancer brought them together.
They had common experiences, common concerns and the same passion for life.
Their goal was to help themselves as well as other women with the same experience.
At a time when breast cancer was a taboo, those women united creating “Alma Zois”.
Breast cancer became for us an opportunity for a new start and the inspiration for a life changing purpose:
A world with no more deaths because of breast cancer.
We have achieved much and we have even more to do. But we know that together we always achieve more.
