{"id":20885,"date":"2021-03-03T14:31:35","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T12:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/almazois.gr\/programmata\/atomiki-symvouleutiki\/"},"modified":"2024-01-31T15:26:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T13:26:37","slug":"breast-cancer-patients-counseling","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/almazois.gr\/en\/programmata\/breast-cancer-patients-counseling\/","title":{"rendered":"Breast cancer patients\u2019 counseling"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Counseling<\/h1>\n<p>Every woman with breast cancer experience can contact the Association and receive counseling services from a social worker and psychologist, depending on her needs and the stage of treatment she is in.<\/p>\n<h2>Counseling Goals<\/h2>\n<p>Counseling, as a process of psychosocial support and rehabilitation, is an important service of the Association, aiming at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediate treatment of the crisis caused by the diagnosis of breast cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Immediate relief and\u00a0regulation of unpleasant emotions (stress, fear of metastasis \/ death, anxiety, worry, depression).<\/li>\n<li>Accepting body image changes.<\/li>\n<li>Adapting to new life conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Improving patient\u2019s functionality.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting patient\u2019s defense strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Patient\u2019s quality re-activation and rehabilitation.<\/li>\n<li>Relationship management between family members and ways to inform her children or other protected members of her family or people of her environment.<\/li>\n<li>Leveraging the crisis caused by the diagnosis of breast cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Managing potential psychopathology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"bigger\"><strong>Participation Requirements<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nCounselling services are provided to the Association\u2019s members and their relatives free of charge. Furthermore, any woman with breast cancer or any other interested person can have their first counseling session free of charge regardless of their state of membership in the Association.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bigger\"><strong>Program duration<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nCounseling sessions are held at the Association\u2019s\u00a0headquarters throughout the year, by appointment.<br \/>\nThe number of sessions with the social worker and the psychologist may vary depending on the phase of treatment and patient\u2019s psychological situation.<\/p>\n<p>Maximum counselling sessions by psychologist:25<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bigger\"><strong>How can I participate?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nAnyone interested in counselling can communicate with Alma Zois by telephone to arrange their first appointment with the social worker.<br \/>\nDuring the first session woman\u2019s or relative\u2019s needs are detected.
